Gala Day 2013

Gala Day is a free community event which takes place on Sunday 7th July from 12.30pm to late afternoon in Ampthill Park.  This is a day for relaxing, listening to great music, meeting up with friends and finding out about your local community groups and businesses.    

A highlight of Gala Day is the Parade which passes through the town centre and arrives at the Park around 1.00pm.  Prizes are presented to the best dressed groups by the Major and then we start our Arena shows on the cricket ground.  We have a very exciting show for you this year which includes a huge inflatable Whale and Story Telling by the wonderful Circo Rum Ba Ba - there will be pirates and mermaids, not to be missed!  In our Arena, there will be street dancing, Jazzerrcise, Sea Shanties, Morris Dancing and a special performance by a dance group from our twin town in France.

In the music arena there will be a whole afternoon of music by great local bands. A real festival feel.

Around the edge of the Cricket ground there will be stalls promoting local charities, community groups and businesses.

There is also a fun fair and a good range of food stalls.
